Does the hook come out on its own?

Both Fat Ivan and Propper Door Stoppers, when opened, the hook centers itself allowing for a one hand installation.

What are the side pieces made of?

Both Fat Ivan and Propper Door Stoppers, the wings are made of fiberglass embedded nylon making them extremely durable. The Mini Propper is made from ABS plastic, lighter and more flexible.

Are Propper tools strong? What is the Heat Rating?

Both Fat Ivan and Propper Door Stoppers are very strong, heat rated at 500° for 9+ minutes

What type of hinges do Propper tools work on?

All Propper tools are designed to have the hook easily slip over any standard hinge

Is the tape reflective?

The tape on Fat Ivan tools is reflective and can easily be seen in a smoky environment when hit with a light.

What is the hook made from?

The 1/4" solid steel hook is case hardened and zinc plated. The hook is locked in with a zinc plated pin.

Do Propper tools have magnets?

Yes, under the clear tape are two rare earth magnets that allow for convenient storage at the point of use. There is one magnet on a Mini Propper.

How much do these tools weigh?

Both Fat Ivan and Propper Door Stoppers weigh 5 oz. A Mini Propper Door Stopper only weighs 2.5oz.

Will a Propper tool rust?

No, all metal parts are zinc plated which makes the entire tool corrosion resistant. 

How big are Propper tools?

Both Fat Ivan and Propper Door Stoppers are sized to the same length as a standard hinge, approximately 4”x4” when open and a compact 4”x2”x1” when folded up. Mini Propper Door Stoppers are closer to 2”x2”. Small and compact, but strong.

Will Propper tools hurt my door?

Unlike other Door Stoppers on the market, Propper tools do no damage to the door finish, but you must also exercise common sense when using them. Do Not try to push against the door with any Propper tool installed. Do Not use during heavy winds. Just like any tool, there is a proper way to use it. Be smart, be gentle, use common sense.

Do Propper tools have a warranty?

Yes, we offer a full five year warranty on both Fat Ivan and Propper Door Stoppers. If you manage to break it, we’ll replace it or provide replacement parts for all warranty issues. Mini Propper Door Stoppers come with a 3 year warranty. Made and assembled in the USA, FatIvan’s® strong, durable construction, manufactured from engineered plastic and zinc plated steel is guaranteed to do the job FOR YEARS TO COME. Safe, secure design that will work on any standard hinge.

FatIvan® is guaranteed to be free of any defects. If there is a quality issue with FatIvan®, simply provide us with your original proof of purchase and the damaged product and we will replace it.
